Parents of St. Dominic School students, we know it has been a learning curve being at home, likely working from home and making sure your children are continuing their education from a distance. We want to see how you bring the classroom home! Send us pictures of your at home learning set up, and let us know how you are succeeding with this endeavor.
As we find out St. Dominic School community shifting to distance learning and staying home from school to prevent the spread of COVID-19, WHYY is introducing various tools to help students enrich their education while they continue to learn from home.
WHYY is here to help
bring the classroom home. While St. Dominic School has created a plan to continue your child’s education at home, WHYY wants to help you go above and beyond. WHYY knows the importance education has in yours and your child’s life, so we have created additional resources for you to use to add to their education.
WHYY Brings The Classroom Home! As we all take precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, we are all finding ourselves at home. Those with children and educators find themselves with the need to continue educating their children and/or students. While St. Dominic has a plan to ensure students stay on track in their education using different forms of distance learning, use WHYY’s resources to add to their education.

March 19 celebrates the life of Joseph, Mary’s husband and earthly father to Jesus Christ. While it is not a holy day of obligation for Catholics in the United States, it is still important to celebrate Saint Joseph and his role in Jesus’ life. Joseph was married to Mary, Jesus’ mother. He traveled with Mary to Bethlehem, raised Jesus as his own son, teaching him his trade of carpentry.
We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. St. Patrick, the Patron saint of Ireland, brought Christianity to Ireland. It is believed he was born in Roman Britain (what is now Britain under Roman rule) to a deacon father. He was kidnapped at 16 and made a slave to Gaelic Ireland for six years and found God in this time. He escaped back home, became a priest, returned to Ireland with Christianity.
